DUO GUITARTES offer a range of programmes which are either dedicated to a particular musical theme or epoch, or juxtapose compositions from the Renaissance, Baroque or Classical periods - linked by a unifying thematic idea - with works from the 20th and 21st centuries. Themes in recent years have included "Chr. W. Gluck and Neoclassicism", "Dances and Fugues", "The Pre-Classical Era and High Baroque", "The Neoclassicism Guitar", "The Guitar in the 21st Century" and "Heaven and Earth - Music between the twin poles of Spirituality and worldliness".
DUO GUITARTES continue to encourage new compositions for two guitars and to integrate their premieres into appropriate programmatic contexts. Works by David Gorton, Alessandra Salvati, Nigel Clarke and Simone Iannarelli are currently in the works or at the planning stage.
